The Encouragement Project (EP) is broken up into six geographical regions. Each of the regions is mentored by one or two Encouragers (ERs) who come along side fellow Honorably Retired PCUSA clergy, their spouses or survivors.
ERs serve as trusted colleagues, sharing joys and concerns in a confidential relationship over a meal and other means of contact. Unrelated to Committee on Ministry or other official presbytery relations, this project is based on doing random acts of kindness, inspired by the words of Paul in I Thess. 2:12b: “…encouraging, comforting, and urging you to live lives worthy of God who calls you into His kingdom and glory.”
The Association of Retired (PCUSA )Ministers, Spouses or survivors (AARMS) is also a focus of EP. AARMS next national convention and conference will meet in San Antonio, Texas from October 11 – 14, 2011.
