By now we hope that you have heard about Triennium, the upcoming gathering of PCUSA youth, which will take place next summer at Purdue University. Our Presbytery has made a significant commitment to send a large delegation by offering funding in three ways. First, transportation cost for 48 youth and 6 adult leaders will be covered. Secondly, the Presbytery will pay 1/3 of the $409 registration fee for the first 40 youth that commit in the form of a down payment and completed application by January 15, 2010. Thirdly, the Presbytery will cover the entire registration fee for the adult leaders. Several of you have already indicated an interest in sending youth and adult leaders to this life-changing national gathering of youth. There is no limit to how many we can send, but there is a limit on how many youth and adults leaders we can fund as a Presbytery. We would ask you to consider any congregational resources you might have as well. Below is the registration time line:
We have had several adults indicate their interest in coming as leaders. Please communicate to these candidates that they will not be a leader for our delegation, but will be responsible for a group of youth which may include a few from our delegation. We have also been informed that a lot of walking is required and that adult leaders must be physically able to walk up to 5-6 miles a day. Download adult and youth applications (PDF, doc, docx). The youth application is due January 15 and the leaders’ applications will be due February 1. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER ON-LINE, UNLESS YOU KNOW YOU WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING PRESBYTERY FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND TRANSPORTAION. If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of us.Lynn Barger Elliott, Registrar, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
