CLERGY COMMISSIONERS
- The Nominating Committee shall place before the Presbytery at its January
meeting the names of persons to be elected Commissioners in number
authorized by General Assembly and an equal number as Alternates to the
General Assembly meeting that same year.
- These nominees shall be persons who are presently Members of Lake Michigan
Presbytery and meet the following criteria:
- Are actively involved in the life of Presbytery (Parish, Non-Parish, and
Retired Pastors are eligible.)
- Have been members of Presbytery at least 4 years.
- Have not attended General Assembly as a commissioner in the last 10
years.
- Those seeking nomination are to submit a completed application form,
with Session approval (Parish Pastors only), to the Moderator of the
Presbytery Nominating Committee. (This time is not to be considered
continuing education or vacation time.)
- The Presbytery Committee on Representation, Presbytery Nominating
Committee, or any Session may, if it deems appropriate, encourage
particular pastors to submit applications.
- Alternates will be selected as carefully as principals. Unless activated
as alternates they may be given preference the following year, but must
apply again.
ELDER COMMISSIONERS

and the local congregation.

Committee, or any Session may, if it deems appropriate, encourage
particular congregations to submit applications.
