Mission Challenge 2007 –
Itineration in the Presbytery of Lake Michigan

My name is David Walter, and I am PC(USA)’s Pacific Region Liaison. As Lake Michigan Presbytery’s only active full-time missionary, I am excited to be able to preach or conduct adult education for any of our churches most any time. During the month of October I have been asked to be the Presbytery’s named missionary for Mission Challenge 2007.

What, you may ask, is a Regional Liaison. My job is to serve as a facilitator of PC(USA) support for our partner programs and implementer of regional strategies for the South Pacific. I also serve as support for mission personnel providing communications, mentoring/guiding, encouraging, and missiological reflection. Lastly, I am a resource for connection and information between our partners in the Pacific and PC(USA), Synods, Presbyteries and congregations.

Inasmuch as I serve as a long-term volunteer am dependent on contributions from our churches to my Extra Commitment Opportunity account, I ask for your help. My ECO number is E074624. This year I am currently up for reappointment and must raise the necessary funds to keep my position active. I can be reached by phone at 616-241-1376 or email at dpwalter@yahoo.com.

Glen and Carol Hallead - After serving from 2000 until mid-2006 with the Christian Church in Thailand (CCT), mission co-workers Glen and Carol Hallead were reassigned to Ghana, where Glen serves as PC(USA)’s regional liaison West Africa.
